Staff Spotlight - Flora
FLORA SHE/HER
Hello lovely people,
Todays blog is about Flora, one of our staff members who has been working at The Little Green Larder for just over a year! Flora is confident, kind and always happy to help.
We had a sit down and a chat and this is what she said:
"I'm from Kinross and I'm going into my Honours year at university studying Biomedical Science. I enjoy musical theatre, rugby and playing classic and indie rock in a few bands."
Her favourite part about working here is the customers. We have lovely regulars and friendly new faces that sometimes know more about products like herbs and spices than we do!
Flora also mentions that we have the best suppliers that are always open to reducing waste in their packaging.
We asked Flora what she does to be sustainable in her every day life, this is what she told us:
"I do most of my shopping at the Little Green Larder and support local businesses. I eat mostly plant based, avoid single use plastics, walk or use public transport to reduce pollution and I make my own clothes or buy second-hand."
Flora’s tip for eco-friendly living is to make your own veg stock out of food scraps. She advises to collect everything from onion skins to pepper seeds, cover it with water in a pot and let it boil for an hour. Then strain out the veg and enjoy your veg stock! Flora dries out the boiled veg overnight before disposing it in a food waste bin.
Her favourite thing we sell is our yummy bombay mix!
